I want to introduce you probably the best Fuji XF travel lenses for videography. As a Fujifilm user, I really searched for the best travel lens solutions and tried many different lenses. In my opinion, these lenses are perfect in terms of quality and size/weight. This combination covers almost everything you might want to photograph on your travels: from wide-angle landscapes shots over close-ups to portraits (if necessary).
1) Fujinon XF18-135mm F3.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR
It's a great all-in-one lens. It will cover you for almost any situation (landscape, group photos, close-ups, and so on) as well as getting rid of the need to change lenses in not-so-ideal situations (like when it's windy or raining).
The image stabilization feature comes in very handy during traveling because you never know what kind of situation you might get yourself into. Also, the lens itself is weather resistant so it's perfect if you're off to adventure somewhere with changing conditions.
2) Samyang 12mm F2 (Rokinon 12mm F2)
The Samyang 12mm F2, or Rokinon 12mm F2 as it's also known, is a great lens to upgrade your kit in terms of wide-angle photography. I mostly use this lens for landscapes and streets videography. This is the perfect wide-angle for getting a wide-angle without a fisheye view. There is very minimal barrel distortion, though, but it is almost invisible.
However, differently than another lens that I mention here, it's a manual focus lens, so you'll have to adjust that yourself and it doesn't have an internal motor. I usually shoot all landscapes with this lens on "infinity" and I am really happy with the results - since it is a very wide lens you almost never get out of focus view by capturing objects that are far away on "infinity".
3) Fujinon XF55-200mm F3.5-4.8 R LM OIS
It is my favorite lens ever. In my recent travels, I used this lens 80% of the time. And I have to say it is a very universal zoom lens, plus it is even possible to shoot videos at night with minimal noise. My videos shot with this lens and 3200 ISO on my XT3 looked really appropriate for a Youtube travel video. One thing to mention is that I like to use it at 130-200mm or 55mm for video, but I have to say sometimes I really missing a bit wider angles, and I have to change the lenses in these cases.
4) Fujinon XF10-24mm F4 R OIS WR
In terms of sharpness, it is very good. This lens is a bit heavy but you get used to that after some time. I suggest using it for architecture, landscapes, and street videography. It covers everything from very wide (10mm) to regular (24mm) angles, so it's really universal. The OIS (image stabilization) works nicely, too. However, you should use a higher ISO for night videos with this lens, it is not the brightest one.
5) Fujinon XF16-80mm F4 R OIS WR
I think it is one of the most underestimated lenses for X mount. It's very versatile - it is really good for travel videos, as well as portraits and street videography. The maximum aperture of F4 isn't that good for landscapes at night, but you can still achieve good results if you are shooting in 24fps and set the ISO higher (on Fujifilm XT3 and XT4 3200 ISO is the upper limit for me).
That's it about the lenses, however, if you are a travel videographer I put my experience and tips for you in my article about a type of gear that is really useful for travel videographers.
This article is not an absolute list of lenses that every videographer should have. It's only my personal opinion and experience with those lenses on how useful they can be while traveling, based on my traveling and filming experience. I hope that this article helped you to choose your next lens. If you need some more recommendations, just drop me a comment. I'll be happy to help you! Happy Travels!
