How To Get More Engagement On YouTube

Updated on September 27, 2021

It is not easy to get more engagement on youtube.

There are many ways to do it but you have to really think about what your channel’s objective is, who the target audience is and what kind of content they would be interested in.

It can take time for a channel to grow but once it does, viewers will come back again and again because there are so many hours of videos uploaded every day that people need help finding things that interest them.

Arguably, many YouTube channels are not optimized for getting more engagements.

One way to get more interactions with your videos is to make sure you post engaging content- something the viewers haven't seen before.

Another good practice is to mix up how often you post videos. Some people post once a day and others post every few days. The best idea is to figure out what works best for your channel.

If you looking for inspiration, looking at other popular channels is a great way to find new ideas that may work well within your own channel.

I have a consistent schedule for uploading new content so people know when they can expect to see the next video. This reduces the feeling of unpredictability which can cause viewers to unsubscribe from your channel after viewing a few videos.

Having a consistent upload schedule also allows me to plan on what I want to film and edit without having too much on my plate. Knowing when I will upload a video allows followers to schedule their time around my content and supports the idea of getting more engagements.

I also try to talk about things that interest me so viewers can relate to what they find in my content. If you want better engagement, you need your audience to feel like they can connect with you and that your channel/ content matters to them. A small way of doing this is by using the #hashtag on social media and in the video description.

I try to use hashtags that people would be interested in but also make sure they are not too specific so it does not limit my audience.

There are many more things you can do to get more engagement. These are just simple ideas that you can implement in your own channel to get better results than before.

These also do not guarantee anything- it is difficult to tell what exactly will work for one person but not for another. Experimentation is the best way to find out what content works well with your audience!

Another way to do this is by posting responses to comments and questions on your video. This also helps show viewers you value them and want their input. When I post a response, I always try to find something interesting in the comment that relates to the content that I just posted.

It is also okay if you do not have an answer or opinion on something- sometimes people will just need someone to listen to what they have to say and this is a good way of doing it!

One more idea you can use to get more engagement is by using social media. When I post about my channel on my Instagram, it helps increase the number of views on that video.

Linking your social media sites can also be beneficial because people will go there first to see what you are doing but they may come back to your YouTube channel afterward if they like what they see.

A YouTube video’s SEO is a compelling video with a title and description that can rank well on Google. The description should be unique and engaging while the title should be clear and concise. The URL should also link back to the channel, not a domain. Optimizing a YouTube video for search engine optimization will help it rank higher in search results.

One way to optimize your YouTube videos is by including strong keywords at the front of your title and in your description. This ensures that your videos are easy to find for people who are looking for them, which leads to more views, shares, and comments.

Demographics data is also useful for getting engagements because people tend to share content they think others will be interested in based on who they are targeting.

Getting more engagements on YouTube is a cumulative effort that takes time, but it is possible with the benefits of building a loyal audience and a following of people who you care about.

Engagement rates vary from person to person and over time but there are definitely ways you can increase your engagement rate with your viewers.

The primary goal for creating thumbnails on YouTube is to make them easy to spot and memorable. The thumbnail needs to match the video's content and be visually appealing.

There are some tips and tricks you can use when adding a thumbnail:

- Keep the camera still while taking the picture

- Avoid bright lights, grainy shadows, objects in the foreground, and dirty microphones

- Frame your shot so that the human face is visible

- Consider how people might use your video on Instagram or Facebook, so keep graphics minimalistic - text is good but not required

Overall, the thumbnail needs to attract viewers and make sense of the content of your video. This will help increase views as more people will click on it!

For SEO purposes, YouTube videos should be between 3-10 minutes long. Longer videos are difficult for users to watch because they may not finish them in one sitting and they may not be as interesting anymore when they return to them.

Shorter videos are also better because people will watch the whole thing and there is more variety on YouTube as a result (people upload shorter content as well).

Creating short videos on YouTube will help increase your video’s engagement rates. Not only do these videos allow people to watch them in one sitting, but they are also quick and easy to make.

If you have an idea for a 5-minute video, then shoot for that rather than making something longer. This will work better with your audience because people want relevant videos and of high quality.

In this article, we’ve discussed a few ways to get more engagement on YouTube. The best way is by testing different things and seeing what works for you.

All of these tips should help increase your engagement rates but the most important thing is that you are creating videos people want to watch! If all else fails, try shooting shorter content because it will be easier to make and relevant for users who may only have 5 minutes free at a time.
